Day 5 - Madrid, Spain

 Museum Day

Madrid has a plethora of incredible museums.  Today we focused on the two most popular.  First the Museo del Prado, and then Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia.

There are no photos allowed inside of the Museo del Prado, so I only took a couple of shots outside of the museum.

An incredible looking church directly behind the Prado.

The next stop on our guided tour was Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia.  I've known about this museum since my 12th grade Humanities class for one reason, Picasso's "Guernica" resides here.

Patty would later be so enamored with a ring that she purchased in the gift shop that she managed to fall down the last couple of stairs here.  Before I knew what happened, two gentlemen rushed to her aid and helped her up.  Thanks guys, way to make me look bad.

Photos were allowed here and I snapped a lot of them.  Here's a few of my favorites.  Starting off, of course, with "Guernica".  It's a massive work worth the pilgrimage to Madrid.

You could easily devote a day to each of the museums, but there's so much to see in Madrid that you'd need to spend a couple of weeks there to do them justice.  Nonetheless, we had a great day.
